America responds to Brad Pitt’s ‘Make It Right’ plea!

December 13, 2008

Updates on his New Orleans project, plans for Christmas.

Seeing Angelina is the highest paid actress in Hollywood at $16M a film, it’s a breath of fresh air witnessing people putting their money to good use helping others. It’s seems the more they give, the more they get! The ways of karma never fail to codify the laws of the universe.

“Brad Pitt’s “Make it Right” campaign to build 150 eco-friendly housing units in New Orleans’ devastated Lower 9th Ward gained momentum this week with actors Will Ferrell and David Spade joining thousands of Americans who have contributed to the cause.

“It’s been fantastic,” the activist actor told TODAY’s Ann Curry on Friday. “We’ve had 12,000 people across America come in and donate. We’ve had people like Will Ferrell come in and adopt a house. Our initial goal was 150 houses, and we’ve got 52 houses that have been adopted, which means 52 families.”

Among the donations, he said, was an anonymous gift of $1 million that arrived on Thursday. If you would like to give a leg up to someone who has less than you do and you have a few extra bucks to spare. Please send what you can to Brad’s official website:

Pitt/Jolie are doing a wonderful thing for NOLA.

Too bad they won’t be around for Mardi Gras.. From what I understand, we’re staying nearby where they make their home..which I’ve seen online and is truly gorgeous.

Thanks so much for this post. Pitt and Jolie have in fact done a magnificent job here and the homes are handsome and green all around.
For those Americans …the many thousands and thousands who came forward and continue to come forward to help the ongoing rebuilding of New Orleans, I saw forever we are grateful and love you each and all.
Were it not for indiviudal Americans, not the government or either party, we would not be where we are now!

NOP… you’re welcome. Pitt/Jolie are great humanitarians. The home they purchased is old world New Orleans and I think a wonderful place to raise their children. Where the children see first hand the philanthropic aspects and strong beliefs their parents have seeing what great amounts of money can do investing in humanity! (rather than the stockmkt) The return never fails to be greater.

I thought it may help if the readers here from around the world are feeling generous they might support his foundation. My gift would be symbolic until the economy turns around.

Until I put that live feed widget in the lower right hand corner of the page, I never realized people from all over the world have found and read our interests at wordpress.

    I just wish they wouldn’t be so shy…and post a hello, once in a while… 🙂

Just so you know, whenever I have the chance to read Pumapac, I never miss your insightful comments to the group. You are a very wise lady.

Have a wonderful holiday, NOP! In case we pass in the night as the holidays draw ever closer-
