Look Over here… while we screw you over there..
We Are All Shepards of our Collective destiny.
I have been unable to write about much of anything because of so much static in the air….Everyone has taken up a cause and is doing their due diligence on their chosen subject(s)… I say, Bravo to them for their dedication on issues needing heavy exposure.. and hopefully finding solutions and remedies they will pass along to us as the result of their hard work.
as what happened to Betty Jean Kling’s daughter fighting for her life in the hospital after a point blank gunshot wound to the face by an ex-BIL is an important priority which stands bare naked in a category all by itself. Not writing in detail about the event including it in my thoughts today in no way diminishes it’s importance and relevance in RL situations. My offerings to this tragic problem would be considered radical and in the eyes of the law, criminal, and thusly will be saved for another day, period. Betty Jean’s site:

This phenomena has occasionally happened to me before and when it does… I know it means, STOP-LOOK and LISTEN.. Look at what is going on around you and Listen with half an ear to what Big Media is pushing, flooding the airwaves as newsworthy.
Big media’s hiring of newscasters revolves around two emotions they must have the ability to elicit. Portray sincerity to “Inflame or Quell” their viewing audience. (who, by the way should be turning off their tvs for regular news reportage or watching overseas broadcasts for a better picture of the external forces affecting our lives)
Penn and Teller explain how it works… enjoy!
Here are some examples explaining the above, all coming from the Washington press:
…promoted by Fox News “Cheney ‘clearly would love’ to get bin Laden now”:
“WASHINGTON (AP) – Vice President Dick Cheney says he’s guessing that al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden is still alive. Bin Laden has escaped capture since the Sept. 11 attacks. Cheney says capturing him is something the Bush administration “clearly would love to do” in the last few weeks in office.”
…Cheney: Not ready to judge Obama stimulus plan “WASHINGTON (AP) – Vice President Dick Cheney says there is a general concern in the country that some big government action is needed to help revive the economy. But he says can’t judge the big economic stimulus plan that Barack Obama is considering because the program has yet to be announced”
…Cheney: Auto problems ultimately falls to Obama “WASHINGTON (AP) – Vice President Dick Cheney says it ultimately will be up to the new Obama administration to resolve the crisis in the U.S. auto industry. Cheney says it’s a difficult problem and that President George W. Bush has done his best to manage it. It was just on Friday when Bush ordered.”
Three sterling examples of distraction and ‘quelling’ the audience into thinking they are secure and everything is under control because Fox News Media is covering Cheney’s parting thoughts.
Well, then… How about this story NOT put out by the Washington Press but by an AP follow-up investigation:
AP study finds $1.6B went to bailed-out bank execs..
(with our money)
“Banks that are getting taxpayer bailouts awarded their top executives nearly $1.6 billion in salaries, bonuses, and other benefits last year, an Associated Press analysis reveals.”
“The rewards came even at banks where poor results last year foretold the economic crisis that sent them to Washington for a government rescue. Some trimmed their executive compensation due to lagging bank performance, but still forked over multi-million-dollar executive pay packages.”
“Benefits included cash bonuses, stock options, personal use of company jets and chauffeurs, home security, country club memberships and professional money management, the AP review of federal securities documents found.”
“The total amount given to nearly 600 executives would cover bailout costs for many of the 116 banks that have so far accepted tax dollars to boost their bottom lines.”
Now read the lame excuse given by the reprehensible, Rep Barney Frank as to his good reason “why” they are so overpaid:
“Rep. Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services committee and a long-standing critic of executive largesse, said the bonuses tallied by the AP review amount to a “bribe” to get them to do the jobs for which they are well paid in the first place.”
How UNBELIEVABLE IS THAT STATEMENT?
“Most of us sign on to do jobs and we do them best we can,” said Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat. “We’re told that some of the most highly paid people in executive positions are different. They need extra money to be motivated!”
Raising my hand before everyone else reading this does… offering to be paid way less for doing the job they were hired to do.. Manage the Bank’s Finances, this time for America’s citizens! Is this the same thing as working for a Privately held Bank? I didn’t think so…Why does Barney pretend there’s NO difference now? When the Banks have become Fiduciaries of Tax Payer’s Money!
“The AP compiled total compensation based on annual reports that the banks file with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The 116 banks have so far received $188 billion in taxpayer help. Among the findings”:
“The average paid to each of the banks’ top executives was $2.6 million in salary, bonuses and benefits.”
_Lloyd Blankfein, president and chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs, took home nearly $54 million in compensation last year. The company’s top five executives received a total of $242 million.”
“Sherman, a member of the House Financial Services Committee, said pay excesses undermine development of good bank economic policies and promote an escalating pay spiral among competing financial institutions – something particularly hard to take when banks then ask for rescue money.”
“He wants them to come before Congress, like the automakers did, and spell out their spending plans for bailout funds.”
GOOD IDEA! LET’S SEE IT HAPPEN!
“The tougher we are on the executives that come to Washington, the fewer will come for a bailout,” he said.”
Yes, I agree. Now let’s see some Congressional Oversight with OUR MONEY! Put our MONEY where your mouth is!
Well,of course, Sherman is right.. It’s OUR money they are using for paying these outrageous salaries in a “DEPRESSION” spiraling out of control with an unemployment rate approaching 10%!
