Obama- Sorry, No Hopium, No Change.. sacrifice..

January 11, 2009

“Everybody’s going to have to have some skin in the game,” Obama said. “Everybody’s Going to Have to Give”..

I guess I’ll be waiting for a long time for the promised economic transformation by the president-elect. Our honeymoon is over before it began. The few weeks in Hawaii were the post election honeymoon for Obama but not for US.

Steph’s Link

Hope and Change? Fix the Broken System in Washington? Why the Big Smile?

I could go on and write a lengthy diatribe listing all the promises that were to come if Obama was elected. And in typical fashion list the already known flip-flops. ….But I won’t.

What I will do is list for everyone’s purview the outrage already felt by the same people that voted for this pretender, who doesn’t have an iota of experience to even claim he is capable of fixing anything. Neither does Ms. Kennedy. You can read about her non existent experience here at : Hillary Unleashed

Obama has an answer for everything EXCEPT what to do with the enormous debt that he plans to create! He plans to borrow and SPEND his way out of this mess—he is the ruler of fantasy land. He is going to scale back many of his promises because he had no foresight or anticipation of what was happening in America during the campaign. Of course, now he has the foresight that he was missing then! The people elected a man who is inexperienced and letting others with power and money run the show. The very one’s that got us into the mess to begin with!

“Everyone has to have skin in the game?” What a lame joke. Those of us working our whole lives keep paying more and more and more into programs that show no return whatsoever. DC has become a giant cesspool sucking down our tax dollars into some void. Why don’t we just cut government by half? Our businesses have the highest business taxes in the world. Why don’t you chop them by 50%? I want my money back – you sir, don’t have a clue.

How much “skin” has Obama had in the game in his adult life? At what point exactly did he earn a non-government salary for a job conducted on an open economy, in competition with others trying to provide the same product or service? And so…….how much of HIS current 400K salary will he be “sacrificing” alongside us?Jon | Jan 10, 2009 2:56:40 PM

Does this mean that Obama is going to “sacrifice” his glamorous and self-contratulatory inauguration which is expected to cost $50,000,000? Which, in case you were wondering, at $200 dollars a month, would provide 20,833 American families healthcare for an entire year. I wonder if he’ll sacrifice that and just do a simple swearing in from the Oval Office and then give a televised speech? Nah, probably not.

244,000 more government jobs??

Depression, here we come.

Posted by: mustangpete | Jan 10, 2009 2:59:26 PM

What did you expect? He sucked them in with pretty words and beautiful speeches and they never took into consideration the man has NO experience in anything except talking and maybe writting a few books. That does not make a good president. Of course none of the Obama supporters will admit they made a mistake. They will keep on their rose colored glasses and continue to drink the kool-aide even when they are homeless with out a dime to their names.

Promise them anything, but give them socialism. He’s a fake.

The American manufacturing base needs a revitalization, Obama’s economic advisors are Keynesians. Combine the two and you get spending to attempt get out of turmoil, even in the face of a mounting deficit. I just wish his economic team could open their ears a little to different perspectives. We know now that budget deficits have no relationship with consumption and monetary policy will not stabilize GDP. We need to save money instead of spend it. Also, we need to encourage development of tangible products the world needs instead of derivative investment tools. We’ve got a ways to go, hopefully our $ won’t go to waste. Currently, I’m a little concerned

many people don’t have anything left to give. Did he mention any of this in his campagine? I wonder what the media and the rest of the Obama supporters will say after seeing this segment. Can’t wait to see how the ladies on the view defend this one.

Everyone needs to get some skin in the game. We are all bones out here.Pres Elect Obama needs to talk to Jimmy Carter.I always thought X Pres. Carter would get relected .Prosecute theses thieves that have demoralized our country .Follow the money trail. Can the value of the dollar get so low that foreign country’s will not except it?

Jon, good point on Obama’s salary and his need to sacrifice. Where is Obama’s sacrifice?Don’t parents trying to provide for their children deserve a bigger break than Washington politicians?

How many parents make 400k per year? I guess to Obama sacrifice is for the working stiffs, not for the elitist like himself.Posted by: Nikki | Jan 10, 2009 3:05:10 PM

Everybody’s gotta give…those of us who have tried to work and live within our means can help those who haven’t! Gee, that sounds great! Can I quit my job and get some Gov’t handout? I agree that the govwernment can just take care of us from the cradle to the grave. We won’t even have to wipe our own butts! The 600,000 new government jobs will have our butts covered! This guy is even smarter than I thought! I should have voted for him!!!!

With record unemployment (worse since 1945) Sorry Barack… I’ve got NOTHING left to give!!! Go ahead and raise taxes. You might as well finish the rest of us off!!! Years from now our children will ask us what was the “middle class.”

Jon and Nikki – Dems don’t sacrifice. They just demand it from everyone else.

Just over 5 years ago, Obama was driving a car with a hole in it and living near Harold’s Shack #44. He’s still quite humble. To label him an “elitist” of all people that have been near Washington DC in the past few administration is laughably misguided. Posted by Dan| Jan 10, 2009Maybe Obama can give up the vacations to Hawaii as well. At least give the appearance of “sharing” the pain that the American people are feeling. How many parents can afford to rent a 30 million dollar house on their vacation? It seems that Obama has no problem asking everyone to share the load as long as it doesn’t include him giving up anything or his precious religion (government) having to do with slightly less. Perish the though that government should actually share in the misery that he wants to spread around.Where is all of the wealth that Obama promised he was going to spread around during the campaign?

Will his Mother- in- law pay her way while living in the White House or are we paying for her use of heat, electricity, water? Should we be honored to have her around?

Betty, I’m sure BO has arranged for her to be the designated “nanny” for his kids. Therefore, she will be picking up a paycheck.

I wonder if the aunt from Kenya, the one that was an illegal alien living in MA, will be moving in as well?

Obama will not only be keeping his $400,000 while asking the rest of us to sacrifice, but now Michelle believes that she should be paid a salary for being first lady. After all, she had a cushy job, thanks to Obama’s senatorial seat, that paid her over $300,000. Is she expected to sacrifice that?

  6. January 11, 2009 10:38 pm

Right! Do you have a link to the MO story of wanting to be paid a salary?

The day we hear that MEcheele is being paid is when we all go to Washington. Two more arrogant people I have never seen. I can’t write my entire thoughts…they are not very nice.

I can’t remember where I first read about a salary being discussed for Michele, I think it was Yahoo News but there were articles on Politico, the NY Times and CNN concerning it.

On Dec.15th there was a segment of “Student News” on CNN about it and Jonathan Zimmerman had an article about it on George Mason University News Network on Jan 4, 2009. I had been trying to keep notes on this but unfortunately not in a very well organized way and I can’t find all my notes. A friend thinks it was also on AP and Reuters.

I’ve learned my lesson. From now on I keep my notes on an interesting subject in a notebook in event I want to refer to them at a future time. If I remember where I saw the interview I will post again.

BTW, her cushy position at Chicago University Hospital was so important that it has now been done away with since Michele will be in the White House. Pay for Play, Chicago style.

Looking forward to hearing from you..

    Hi Lee-

I think you’re right Lee. I remember hearing something about MO getting paid for (???) work. It wasn’t public too long though. Probably because the story was going viral and they wanted to halt any forthcoming controversy.
