BOOM!

-Dems To Vote For Contempt Charge Against Eric Holder (WHI RELATED)
Democratic Party House member Steny Hoyer is openly indicating to the Obama White House to be prepared for Democrats to support a contempt charge against Obama Attorney General Eric Holder.

STENY HOYER (D) Maryland

EXCERPT:

Now that the politically potent National Rifle Association is keeping score, some Democrats may join House Republicans if there’s a vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress in a dispute over documents related to a botched gun-tracking operation.

The chief Democratic House head counter, Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, declined to tell reporters how many defections he expected, but acknowledged that some in his party would consider heeding the NRA’s call for a “yes” vote.

UPDATE:

A longtime D.C. political operative indicated this afternoon that as many as 30 Democratic members of Congress will join with the Republican House majority in voting in favor of a Contempt of Congress charge against Eric Holder should it come to a vote later this week.

They are throwing out the racism charge big time. So far Boehner ain’t blinking. More than a few whispers about

“Impeachment”!

They got something. It better be enough or this could blow up in our faces bad. Hanging way out there for Issa and Co right now. They better have what they promise or a bunch of us are gonna get stung bad on this. Right now though, there are as many as 30 Dems hinting they will vote for contempt. Got to think some of those votes are as much of a big f-ck you to Pelosi as anything. I would have had the vote on Wed instead of Thurs. Will get drowned out by the coverage on Obamacare ruling. Guessing that’s what Boehner wanted though. He’s still nervous. He isn’t running away, but he isn’t exactly throwing heavy punches yet either. Nice to see all the work coming toghether though. Wish the Old Man was more aware of how good we are doing right now. Shit. You hang tough too. Things getting done now. Enjoy the ride. But be ready for the bumps. No way we come out of this without some scrapes.

BIG HUGS… Ulsterman!

Sometimes I think the impeachment of Clinton had nothing to do with him, but was to make the act of impeachment unlikely to ever happen again because the public got so burned out on the politics of it, thus opening the door for a generation of crooked presidents (a decade now and still going “strong”). So impeaching Clinton was another example of the fascist expansion of executive powers. The partisan loyalty doesn’t help matters either – so many Dems who called for Bush to be impeached are silent as O does the same things (Gitmo, for example, and renditions). Not to mention F&F, drone strikes, etc.

His Impeachment had everything to do with him. The witch hunt began at the behest of GHWB to have Clinton (and Gore) removed from office because Bush couldn’t believe the younger challenger beat him in the presidential race. Bush I was sure he, with the strength of the FBI and Special prossies, he could find something, anything, as a reason to indict Clinton and have the two of them removed from office, moving House Speaker, Gingrich up to the number 1 spot wresting control of the WH back to the Republicans.

Good hearing from you again, zp.. I’m going on vacay tomorrow for a couple of weeks. So, If you don’t hear from me… have a good 4th and a great summer…

I wasn’t overlooking the partisan zeal to get Clinton, that was definitely there on the right. But they had extra motivation and assistance to take impeachment “off the table” going forward, that’s all I’m sayin. The lawlessness of the Bush and Obama admins makes Clinton’s lying under oath look tame, and impeachment talk goes nowhere. I suppose it’s kinda conspiratorial on my part to say that was by design.
    Enjoy your trip!
